Topics, Sources and Applicability of Coaching Knowledge in Police Training

چکیده
The current study explored police trainers’ perceptions of their actual and preferred methods acquiring new coaching knowledge; the types knowledge they currently require and/or desire; how apply knowledge. A total 163 trainers from Germany Austria participated in study. responses were analysed using an inductive approach. results showed that thought needed pedagogy, policing, self-development, with reasons being centred around a need to optimise learning, training content engagement learners within sessions. Preferred learning focused predominantly informal non-formal opportunities, for which social interaction, reality-based focus perceived quality. Finally, identified technical or tactical policing knowledge, specific delivery as useful, recently acquired mainly because it was have direct application working practices. Based on these findings, is suggested are context-specific support develop declarative structures afford critical reflection information.
